Dan Stipano is Head of AML/CFT at Davis Polk and a nationally recognized leader in bank regulatory, anti-money laundering (AML), sanctions, and financial crimes matters. He advises financial institutions on a broad range of regulatory, enforcement, compliance, and risk management issues and is widely respected for his work at the intersection of financial crimes compliance and banking regulation.
Dan brings more than 30 years of regulatory and enforcement experience from the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC). As Deputy Chief Counsel from 2000 to 2016, he played a key role in significant Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) rulemakings and policy issuances and oversaw major OCC enforcement actions. Prior to that role, he served as Director of Enforcement.
