William S. Sachs’ extensive bank experience includes expertise in BSA compliance, audit and information technology audit. William, also known as Bill performed BSA monitoring system rule validations, assisted with the implementation of BSA systems, performed BSA independent testing and BSA/AML/OFAC risk assessments. In addition, William developed internal controls and related policies and procedures that assisted in the resolution of regulatory issues. Bill also worked on outsourced or co-sourced internal audits.

Bill was a VP/BSA Officer for a retail community bank, worked extensively on BSA matters in a foreign owned bank, and was an auditor for three foreign owned banks. He developed a review [and vs. an] approach toward analyzing BSA Monitoring System Rules and testing the interface controls related to data import. Further, he established comprehensive audit programs, an effective audit risk assessment model, and training programs in all areas of bank operations, including general compliance.

Bill earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting, Central Connecticut State University, New Britain, CT, is a Certified Financial Service Auditor (CFSA) and Certified Bank Auditor (CBA). He served two terms as chairman and currently serves on the board of the Association of International Bank Audit and Compliance Professionals Inc. (AIBA), and is one of the founding members of the International Bank Regulatory Compliance Committee.
